NL Quick Pitch: Derrek Lee joins 300-HR club, Aramis Ramirez goes to DL for Cubs

The Cubs be acquainted with they'll be without Aramis Ramirez, who was put on the 15-day DL with a thumb injury on Wednesday.

But they didn't look like a body short on power Wednesday night.

The Cubs clouted five home runs at Milwaukee -- two each by Marlon Byrd and Geovany Soto -- in a 9-4 triumph against the Brewers.

Most notable of the homers: the 300th of first baseman Derrek Lee's career.

"You're just light-hearted to be able to make it the big leagues," said Lee, the 19th active player to collect 300 homers. "So, to have 300, I'm unbelievably proud of that."

The five homers against Randy Wolf (4-6) were more than the Cubs had hit in their previous nine games combined. They recognize that not having a healthy Ramirez won't help their chances of rebounding in the NL Central.

Ramirez averaged 32 homers per year from 2004-08 and hit 15 in spite of being limited to 82 games by injuries in 2009. But this year, the .282 career hitter is batting by the skin of one's teeth .168 with five homers and 17 runs scored in 47 games.

Fantasy playoffs are coming up how do you like my chances?

dl--downs

I am sitting 3rd out of 12 teams I will presumably release downs when he comes of the dl. I have been dying for a better 2nd and 3rd all year but they are so hard to find. I had to pick lowell back up because blalock is so undependable since Lowell came of the DL he has been raking it. Could I do any two for one trade or is there anybody coming on that to many people don't know about for 2nd and 3rd.

youre yoke is stacked man

What's my chapter like and does it need improving?

"End Of The Infuse with Day"

Desi sat cross-legged on the gym floor watching Stephanie Dice, the girl from her Math Lab and Algebra 1-1 genre, flouncing her way towards a group of boys in her tight, blue dress that went just below her thighs. She was five-three, had untangle blond hair, and a butt that was a little too big for a girl her size.

An olive-skinned boy, who looked to be no taller than six-five, greeted her by giving her a evenly matched squeeze. Desi immediately recognized him as Ritchie Babbitt from her Algebra class.

"Hey, Ritchie!" Stephanie piped in her always-enthusiastic voice.

"Well, if it isn't Stephanie." he drawled.

A few boys wolf-whistled. Without even having to investigate, Desi already knew that Stephanie was the eye-bon-bons for most of the male population. Something that she would never be. At least that's what she predicts.

Stephanie tilted her head slightly, threw her right arm up, and laughed as if being verecund of the obvious sex-appeal she was giving off to the boys. One of them asked for her number, and she promptly took out a pink gel pin from her Marc Jacobs bag and wrote down the bunch on the palm of his hand.

Desi shook her head, smiling. She had met Stephanie in Math Lab when she was leaving Retreat Hall. She had actually thought she was a teacher. A really petite one, maybe.

Desi was trying to find the group when she noticed Stephanie loitering outside the classroom door.

"Are you also in Math Lab?" she had asked Desi with any luck.

"Yeah." she said mechanically,

"Yay!" Stephanie suddenly rupture. "I am not the only decent looking girl in this class. I was scared for a second that I would be stuck with a bunch of losers."

Um...thanks?

The broad immediately deemed Desi as her seat buddy. Being the soft-spoken person Desi was, she couldn't say no.

"Racist!" an African American boy hollered. His spokesman ringing to the other side of the gym.

"I am not!" a tall, smiley boy said, rubbing Stephanie's back. "That demoiselle really is ghetto."

"I know." the first boy said. "Just messin with ya."

"Talented." Smiley said. "Scared me for a sec. But Steph, don't you think that girl's fat?"

She raised both of her hands, group-languishing that she didn't want to say anything offensive.

Desi looked over and saw who they were talking about. Well, it was Missy Brailles. The stuff she had eaten lunch with. She was overweight, but those boy's comments were totally unnecessary. She made note that if they ever asked for her opinion on Missy's strain, she would decline and walk away.

She watched Stephanie laugh and flirt her way with the boys. Desi was merge of impressed. She wished she could have the charisma and appeal to get any boy she wanted. She took out her journal with unicorns, rainbows, deers, and thrilled people on the cover. Taking out her flower pin, she wrote this down:

The blond girl in my ML class may seem a little immovable and out there, but I think she would be a good help for me getting the right guy. I just hope I impress her enough for her to willingly keep from me out. :)

After gym class over, it was time to go home. Desi couldn't have been anymore happier. Despite the fact that her first day of considerable school had been fairly decent, she couldn't wait to go home and take a nap.

She went to her locker to fetch her backpack. As she was collecting her things, someone accidentally bumped into her as they were eagerness.

"Oh, sorry!" a male's voice apologized. "Didn't see you there."

Desi turned around and found herself looking wooden at the same guy she had seen earlier that. That's right, the same guy she had nearly injured herself over trying to get a better look at. He was standing immediately there in the flesh.

He looked even more handsome than before.

"That's okay." she mumbled quietly, which came out as "s'kay".

He smiled and walked over to his locker. It was only across from her's. As if it were a reflex, she smiled.

Respite a minute! She thought hastily. Why like him? He'll probably be just like Scott. Mean and Popular.

The bus conveyed on home was calming. She had a meaningful conversation with Le and Wendy about Obama running for office and the economy. They were phlegmatic people along with Judy, Vinnie, Justin, and Missy. Maybe this place had potential after all. She was already making friends. But she still wished she was at Graysville. She had been wondering what her old classmates were doing. Perhaps laughing and reuniting. For a moment, she felt sad.

When she got home, the first thing she did was run to upstairs to her bedroom. She tossed her backpack onto her desk position and flopped onto her bed.
It's the last chapter, so if you read the rest, you'll understand it. It's from the website I'm writing at.
