Confident Hamid looks like a keeper

The change between Bill Hamid and Alexandre Pato actually isn't that great. That is, except for the money, the club and the country.
But 19-year-old Hamid had no tough nut to crack facing down the 20-year-old Pato twice in the early going Wednesday, making a in holy matrimony of classy saves in D.C. United's 3-2 exhibition upset victory over AC Milan. It was a not-too-mean-spirited performance, considering it came against the prodigious Brazilian, who was signed by Milan three years ago for 22 million Euros.
"Unequivocally, I have more butterflies in league games than this because we're trying to make it to the playoffs," said Hamid, whose peformance reasserted his pre-eminence as United's No. 1 goalkeeper after missing last weekend's loss at Houston with a shoulder damage.
With United (1-8-0) still well out of contention, talking postseason is premature. But Hamid's form, the re-emergence of Chris Pontius and Santino Quaranta from recent ailments, and Luciano Emilio's first aim since rejoining the club in April gives United (1-8-0) a fair bit of momentum to transmit over into Saturday's showdown with Chivas USA (3-6-1).

Gary Caldwell, a liability for Scotland?

This guy is ineffectual. How can people rate this clown?
Last night he was shown to be out of his depth.
Last week, he looked like he was containing John Carew, but the actuality is that big Carew had the pace and beating of him every time, but he was getting away with it until he could get away with it no longer.
I hope he continues to set someone back Celtic, but he has no place in the national team. Carew is a class player, but he's not one of the very best strikers in the fabulous. Can you imagine if we made the World Cup and drew Spain, Cameroon, Brazil or Argentina?
Can you imagine Caldwell (and McManus too for that business) up against David Villa, Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o, Luis Fabiano, Alexandre Pato, or Sergio Aguero?
Nightmare, there would be a very good chance of us drawing either Ivory Coast or Cameroon given that they are non-Europeans who would not be top seeds. Drogba or Eto'o would concoct it was Christmas.
We are in big trouble with Caldwell at the back.
LOL, he was the player of the season last season because he impressed against garbage teams.
He's miserable, and constantly found out against good teams. The cu nt has cost us a chance of going to the World Cup probably and clowns like you are defending him.
Look at the sate of him last eventide and last week ffs. And he's suspect against Rangers every time he plays them too.
He should never have been named POTY anyway. And awards like that foretell nothing. Beckham was once named the 2nd in WPOTY, and he was nowhere near it that season.

I understand Scottish football is crap, but in fairness there's a lot of dross under the top 6 or 7 in the PL.
And Rangers could make it out of the section, depending onthe rank.
